MIHL Kicks Off Its 4th Season!
The MIHL has kicked off its 4th season this year and it has started with some intense competition. Week one started with the newly established Kalkaska Battlers taking on the 3 time champions, the Muskegon Voyagers in Muskegon for the kick off the 23-24 MIHL season. While the Battlers took the loss 11-5, they did come out and prove that they were going to be walked over and underestimated.
The Gaylord Snow took on the Waterford Sharks in Waterford. These two teams are usually evenly matched and this proved no different as the Snow edged out Waterford 5-4.
Week two was the first games of the season for the Blue Water Stars and the Detroit Warhawks and both games proved to be a rocky start for both teams as the Warhawks fell 13-0 against the Voyagers and the Blue Water Stars fell 15-0 against the Sharks.
Kalkaska took on Gaylord for the first time this season and lost 10-7 but once again the Battlers showing they are here to stay, but just could not keep up with Gaylords high scoring offense.
