Defending the Net to Defending the Country

Todays feature is Warrior Wednesday in the MIHL and we wanted to brings special attention to one of the Blue Water Stars goaltenders, Steven Fleet.  Steven is getting ready to ship off to Marine Corps Bootcamp in Perris Island, SC so we sat down and talked for a bit about making the transition from defending the net to defending the country.

Name: Steven William Fleet
Age: 19
Hometown: Port Huron, MI
How long have you been playing hockey: 15 years
How did you find the MIHL & Blue Water Stars? Heard about it through hometown talk.
What made you join the Marine Corps?: I felt in a continuous state where I wasn’t bettering myself everyday to the standard I know I have the potential to do. I wanted to have a purpose with life and to be in the best physical and mental state I can be.
What's your MOS/job in the military: I chose cyber warfare operations because I’ve always been a computer nerd ever since a child. I was getting free mp3 music at the age of 4 and started coding around then aswell so it only felt right to get into something with computers.

Thank you for your future service Steven and have fun in Boot Camp 😉
